Commission Wildlife Art

I create unique Wildlife Art in watercolour, pastel, ink and mixed media.

I use only the finest quality archival materials to ensure your artwork last for decades to come.

I have put together some pointers below to help you understand the commission process.

I've also prepared a separate Photo Guide to help you take and choose the best photos.

The most important step is to book your slot!

The Commission Process

  • The first step is to secure your slot. Contact me to book your slot even if you don't have your photos ready just yet. If your commission is required for a certain date e.g. Birthday, Christmas, Anniversary then please contact me as early as possible to make sure I can meet your deadline.

  • We will chat about your requirements and I will provide the total cost and approximate timescale. I will also advise you of the best size for your piece of artwork.

  • I will require a 30% non-refundable to add you to my waiting list. The balance can be paid when the commission is complete.

  • I will ask you to send me some high quality photos, which we will discuss and pick the best ones to base your artwork on.  Please read my Photo Guide to help you take and choose the best photos.

  • I will prepare a mock up and send an email to show you how it will look. I take work in progress photos of my artwork as I go, so if you would like me to email some work in progress photos as I work let me know.

  • When your commission is complete, I will email you with a photo of the artwork for your approval.  Once you are 100% happy, I will ask for the final payment.  Payment must be made before I ship the artwork.

Packing & Sending Your Commission

Once payment is confirmed I will post your artwork to you. My paintings are carefully and well packaged flat. They are sent by special delivery via Royal Mail.

If you have any further questions, please contact me, I am always happy to answer any questions and help with guidance if you are unsure what type of artwork you would like.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a commission take?

It depends on when you book your commission and how busy I am. Leading up to Christmas and Valentines Day I am very busy so you need to book well in advance. I only have a limited amount of commission slots available during the year so please look out for when these are released.

When do you need payment?

30% deposit is required before I commence your commission. The final payment will be due once you have approved your artwork and are 100% happy. Your artwork will be shipped flat when your final payment has cleared.

What photos do you need?

The better the reference photos the better the painting. Please see my "Photo Guide" for help and advice on how to take and choose your photos. If you are commissioning a pet or wildlife portrait, I need one photo that you would like your commission to be based on. Ideally, I need a few other photos so I can get a feel of their personality - the eyes are really important!
